The Client Journey
Why Choose Element Wealth Planning
At Element Wealth Planning, the client journey begins with a thoughtful conversation — not about products, but about your life, your family, and what matters most.
From there, we design a personalized strategy that aligns your goals, investments, tax planning, estate considerations, and risk management into one cohesive plan.
As a boutique fiduciary financial planning firm, we provide ongoing guidance, proactive communication, and concierge-level service, ensuring every decision supports your long-term goals. Our role is to simplify complexity, bringing clarity and confidence to every stage of your financial life.
The Planning Process
As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, our team adheres to a rigorous planning framework consistent with CFP® Board standards. We are often introduced through trusted attorneys, CPAs, and long-standing clients who value our disciplined process and our commitment to gaining a deep understanding of each client’s complete financial landscape.
Our work begins with a discovery meeting devoted to clarifying goals, priorities, and long-term vision. In advance, we provide a Documents to Gather checklist, Budgeting Worksheet, and Client Profile Form — all designed to equip us with the information necessary to provide thoughtful, comprehensive advice.
Because every client’s circumstances and aspirations are distinct, every plan we design is tailored accordingly. We evaluate all relevant components of your financial life to ensure they work in concert — creating a cohesive strategy structured to support both your immediate needs and your long-term ambitions.
Investment Philosophy
Element Wealth Planning provides discretionary asset management, meaning our clients entrust us with the authority to buy, sell, rebalance, and make strategic adjustments on their behalf. This structure allows us to proactively manage portfolios, respond to changing market conditions, and maintain proper allocations without requiring approval for each individual trade.
We primarily utilize exchange-traded funds (ETFs) rather than traditional mutual funds due to their tax efficiency and lower internal expense ratios. Investment selections are driven by a disciplined screening process that evaluates comparable options based on metrics such as alpha, expense ratio, standard deviation, covariance, and beta. Portfolios are continually monitored and measured, with particular attention to risk-adjusted returns and volatility.
*ETFs trade like stocks, are subject to investment risk, fluctuate in market value, and may trade at prices above or below the ETF's net asset value (NAV). Upon redemption, the value of fund shares may be worth more or less than their original cost. ETFs carry additional risks such as not being diversified, possible trading halts, and index tracking errors.
For taxable (non-retirement) accounts, tax efficiency is a key consideration. We often emphasize municipal bonds over corporate bonds and favor capital appreciation strategies over dividend-heavy approaches when appropriate, helping clients retain more of what they earn.
While risk tolerance guides overall allocation, we also structure portfolios based on time horizon and the tax characteristics of each account. Retirement accounts, for example, may assume a higher equity allocation given their longer time horizon and absence of taxable capital gains. Conversely, non-retirement accounts may emphasize municipal bonds and tax-sensitive positioning.
Asset allocation does not ensure a profit or protect against a loss.
There is no guarantee that a diversified portfolio will enhance overall returns or outperform a non-diversified portfolio. Diversification does not protect against market risk.
Rebalancing a portfolio may cause investors to incur tax liabilities and/or transaction costs and does not assure a profit or protect against a loss.
